Biography

Howard C. Coleman, BS, BA, is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Genelex Corporation. Mr. Coleman received his undergraduate degrees in clinical science and psychology in 1978. Following employment in the biotechnology industry he attended graduate school from 1982 until 1987 in the Department of Pathology at the University of Washington and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. In 1987 he left the graduate program, and with the help of National Institute of Justice funding started Genelex. He has testified as a forensic DNA expert in more than twenty trials in state, federal and Canadian courts, most involving serious crimes. He is the inventor of a patented technology that has been widely used in forensic laboratories and in 1995, he co- authored DNA in the Courtroom: A Trial Watcher's Guide with Eric Swenson. As a result he was widely interviewed and quoted during the OJ Simpson trial. Mr. Coleman has presented extensively to forensic scientists, attorneys and law enforcement officers, as well as educators and the public.
