Genelex routinely performs the broadest spectrum of identity tests available today.
This allows us to report results with a high level of certainty even when key family
members are unavailable. Here are some examples:
Fully
Accredited or Self
Collection DNA Testing are both offered options.
We've prepared a chart so that you can compare the two
types of parentage tests that are available. The laboratory
testing is performed in the same manner in both types
of test. The differences are in the collection and reporting.
When making your decision please consider what would
happen if the test results either confirm or deny paternity.
Legal Status
Fully Accredited
(Legally Admissable Test) Useful for all legal purposes
including child custody and support, social security,
insurance, military, adoption, inheritance, tribal
and immigration rights and benefits.
Self Collection (Home Test)
Not useful for legal purposes
because it is not possible to independently verify
who has been tested.
Specimen Collection
and Chain of Custody
Performed by Genelex authorized
professionals. Must include verifiable proof of
identity of all parties. Available in medical
facilities worldwide and in-home in many locations.
Performed at home by individuals
being tested using a "kit" with cheek "buccal"
swabs and easy-to-follow directions.
Accuracy
Genelex tests are 100 times more
discriminating than the industry standard. Average
positive test results exceed 99.99%. We test 16
markers vs. the 8 to 10 tested in most labs and
verify the sex of all tested individuals to assure
you of reliable results. Additionally, we run all
exclusions twice to confirm 100% exclusion.

accreditation standards and including full disclosure
of test results.

not verified." Includes full disclosure of test

Additional Services
For an additional fee, affidavits,
depositions and courtroom testimony, can be requested.
A full-price retest will be required
if the results are disputed.
Carefully consider your options, make a decision and we will schedule your testing

MotherlessTesting is a common testing option. The mother's sample is not necessary
to perform paternity testing.
Pre-Natal
testing is performed on samples obtained by trained
medical personnel using the amniocentisis from approximately
thirteen to twenty weeks gestation or CVS (chorionic
villis sampling) procedures from eight to eleven weeks.
It is the responsibility of the client to seek medical
advice concerning the performance of these procedures.
When the Father
is unavailable for testing, two testing options
are available. Grand Paternity which is a straightforward
test when both of his parents are available for testing
and there is no doubt as to his parentage. Kinship
Analysis is a more complicated test because the
family relationships must be determined using fewer
and more distantly related individuals, such as the
child's aunts and uncles or brothers and sisters. It
is possible using the most advanced of these testing
methods to determine if two people are siblings, half-siblings
or unrelated.
Deceased individuals can be tested using medical, funerary, or abandoned biological
materials. Often these are routine, but they may involve serious criminal charges and
difficult-to-work-with samples. We have extensive experience and an outstanding, courtroom
proven record with these cases. If the date of death is recent, call immediately to discuss
the circumstances to prevent the loss of easily obtainable samples.
Newborn testing is performed on samples obtained by trained medical professionals
during the cutting of the umbilical cord at birth. Kits are sent out to either the
individual or attending doctor prior to the delivery date.
Twin Zygosity is performed to determine whether twins are identical or fraternal.
Samples are only required from the twins.
DNA Identity Testing is performed on children and high profile individuals to
create a genetic identification profile in case of disappearance or foul play.
This procedure is also performed to determine whether two samples are from the same
individual.
