Are you pregnant and want to confirm paternity before the child is born?

Genelex Prenatal DNA Testing can help.

As a first step, you need to contact your physician or ob/gyn as soon as possible to determine if you are a candidate for amniocentesis or CVS sampling. Keep in mind that because this is an invasive procedure and has the potential to cause harm to the fetus; the physician may be unwilling to perform the procedure. Amnio Testing refers to paternity testing performed with amniotic fluid obtained through amniocentesis - this is typically performed between 13 to 20 weeks’ gestation. Chorionic Villus Sampling (CVS) is a procedure that involves the removal of a small amount of placental tissue for analysis, this is typically performed between 8-11 weeks.

If your physician is willing to perform the procedure, set an appointment time, then call Genelex with your physician's address so we can send the proper forms and collection container directly to him or her. If the physician takes amniotic fluid, the sample would be sent directly to our lab. If CVS samples are taken, your physician must have the sample cells cultured before they are sent to Genelex.

We will also need to arrange for sample collection from the alleged father and you. We will either make an appointment at a clinic or hospital for your collections taken with a cheek swab or send a self collection kit to you. The hospital or clinic out there will charge between $ 20- $45 to collect each sample and send it to our laboratory.

Once all samples are received, the testing will take about 5-7 business days and cost $725.00. Expedited testing is available in as little as one business day for an added fee.

Below is a summary of our Responsibilities and Obligations to you:

Perform the most accurate test humanly possible. Our standards require that we perform as much testing as needed to prove or disprove paternity in every case. Fortunately, we have the broadest spectrum of identity tests available today. Our standards for accuracy and certainty are inspected and accredited by the American Association of Blood Banks Parentage Testing Committee.

Maintain Confidentiality. Every client’s address, phone number and other personal information is held in confidence. We send a report of results to all tested adults, but without express written order will not release any personal information to the other parties. And, of course, our testing and records are in a verifiable, secure facility and unavailable to unauthorized personnel.

Keep you fully informed. I’m trained to explain our services and procedures in a language that is easy to understand. Our experience has shown us that this is usually not an easy time for our clients. That's exactly why we’ll track your case, keep you informed and give you a clear test result that can help you with both your current and future needs.

Contact a DNA Testing Consultant at 800 523-3080 today with any questions or to set up the testing.
