NPR: The Thousand Dollar Genome
Yesterday, NPR started a series, called The Thousand Dollar Genome, which examines the history, biology, and possibilities of sequencing the human genome. The entire series so far has been quite interesting, but today's episode was especially germane to our mission since it considered how personal genomics can predict disease, affect healthcare, and influence medical and ethical decisions. Listen to today's episode - including an account of James Watson's personal encounter with adverse drug events and pharmacogenomics - here at NPR's website.
